Principal's Letter

July 26, 2023

Dear HFCS Parents and Guardians:

First and foremost, I want to warmly welcome all new and returning students and parents to our Holy Family Catholic School family.

Our spiritual theme this year is Hope which will permeate our school's faith-based efforts, activities, and formation throughout the school year. We will also focus on the preparation leading to our diocese's Golden Jubilee theme, Renew, from Romans 2:12, "Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, and persevere in prayer."

We are excited to introduce new educational initiatives this year. These include a new comprehensive writing program while transitioning to a Science of Reading approach, greatly enhancing our students' literacy skills. The new Step Up to Writing books and our move to Restorative Practices rooted in our Christian understanding of the human person indicates our commitment to providing an exceptional education for our students.

Our Design for Excellence self-study will allow us to reflect as a school community on the many outstanding ways we serve our students and find opportunities to keep growing in our craft. Finally, we will pilot Holy Moments, a program Dynamic Catholic offers that will further deepen our school community's life of faith. These initiatives, combined with the leadership of our new Assistant Principal, Mr. Jesse, and our faculty and staff's collective expertise, will make this a transformative year for our students.

God bless you and your families,
Sarah J. Chevlin
