This is Ms. Halgas’ fourth year as Holy Family’s middle school math teacher. She was previously with Fairfax County, where she has taught algebra, geometry, and calculus.
A native of Philadelphia, she has her BS in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University, and a MS in Engineering from The Catholic University of America. She worked as a radar engineer with various government contractors for over ten years before obtaining her teaching certification in secondary mathematics from George Mason University.
She is an active member of the parish, and enjoys singing with the Holy Family Praise Choir on Sunday mornings. In her free time she likes to bake, sew, and solve crossword puzzles. Ms. Halgas lives in Dale City with her husband Kevin, and their three children. Carolyn is a junior at St. John Paul the Great High School, Andrew is in sixth grade and Megan is in first grade at Holy Family.
