Volunteer Opportunities

All parents who are interested in volunteering are required to attend Virtus training from the Diocese of Arlington. Go to Virtus Online to register for training.

In addition, ALL volunteers must undergo a background check. You may begin that process by clicking below.
Once you have completed volunteer hours, record them on the Volunteer Hours Documentation Form.

Backpack Program:

The Backpack Program provides healthy options on the weekends for students at Bel Air Elementary who rely on school breakfast and lunch during the week. Holy Family NJHS students pack approximately 60-80 bags once a month for the Bel Air students to have a bag of healthy food to take home each Friday. We are in need of adult volunteers to deliver the bags to Bel Air one Wednesday a month between the hours of 9:30am – 1:30pm. Please review the available slots below and click the button to sign up.

OTHER EXAMPLE VOLUNTEER POSITIONS:

  • Room Parents: Needed for all grades!  The room parents coordinate classroom activities with the teacher and work with the PTO Volunteer Coordinator and Room Parent Coordinator on school-wide events.
  • Resale Uniform “Shop”: Volunteer parents are needed to sort sizes, tag items and run the Resale Uniform “Shop”.  This is a great way to save money on gently used uniforms.
  • 3 Kings’ Shop: In early December volunteers will be needed to help with set up, take down, and assist our youngest shoppers as they make their selections buying Christmas presents for their loved ones.
  • Other Opportunities: There are numerous opportunities throughout the year where your talents can be used, like Picture Day, Catholic Schools Week activities, classroom volunteer (for the younger classes), the Fr. Creedon Memorial 5K Run, and field trip chaperones.

Please be sure to check back for other opportunities as they occur throughout the year.
